Third baseman Russell Branyan smashed 3 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the
Jefferson Park Penguins defeated the Dublin Pubcrawlers by the score of 5 to
4 at the ballpark.
Branyan had a great day at the plate. He hit a bases-empty home run in the
3rd inning, ripping a solo home run in the 5th inning and bombed a two-run
dinger (his 6th of the season) in the 7th inning. Dublin had a chance in the
9th but they came up short.
Randy Johnson(6-4) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 6 innings. Johnson got
help from Greg Aquino who earned his 7th save. Pete Munro(2-5) was the
loser. He was touched for 4 homeruns in his 6 and 2/3 innings of work.
'Anytime you lose it hurts,' said Adam Smith 'but it's losing the close ones
that really hurt.'
